Average
Household Size
The U.S. Census defines
"household" as "all persons who occupy a housing unit (house, an
apartment, a mobile home, a group of rooms..)...which have direct access from
the outside of the building or through a common hall." From 1970 to 2015
the trend of shrinking household sizes will continue, with household size being
expected at 2.38 persons by the year 2015. This decrease in household size
paired with the expected increase in population, will have many impacts on the
future of Sauk County land use patterns and housing needs.
